Overview Objectives Approach Results

Tacterion makes plyon, a tactile sensor layer under a millimetre thick that reads proximity, touch and force, and bends with the surface above it.

The applications run from steering wheels and power tool handles to home appliances and wearables on the factory floor, as the company lists them. In each, the value is in what the surface starts to notice.

- Show a sensor that is invisible in use, at the scale where it works.
- Give the relaunched website its hero video and a set of images the company could carry into its other brand applications.
- Pass the first-scroll test: a visitor with no context, hearing of the company for the first time, understands the product in a second.

The sensor was built layer by layer, from the silicon skin to the plyon layer and the foils beneath it, and lit as an object, not a diagram. The electrode maze is shown in cross-section, then under a fingertip, then on a curved surface, so the three things it reads become visible in sequence. On the website the hero is a black cube with the sensor lit under one finger: the technology explained before the first word.
